| Abstract: | The fluorescence properties of Cerium ( III )in dilute sulphuric acid has been stud- ied at maximum excitation wavelength 258nm and maximum emission wavelength 354nm Cerium ( IV ) have not the properties under above condition. The analytical method of trace amount Iodine has been established according to the fact that the reaction between Cerium ( IV ) and Arsenic (III) can be catalysed by Iodine and Cerium (IV ) is reduced Cerium ( III ). The detection limit of the method is 0. 042ug/mL and the linear range of iodine is 0. 1-0. 5ug/mL. The method has been used to determination of trace amount iodine in food with satisfactory results. |
