An Effective Method for Overcoming Difficulties in Coordination of Economic Dispatch Between Thermal Power Plants and Hydroelectric Stations

This paper analyses the difficulties in the selection of the initial feasible point and in the coordination during the iteration of the real and reactive power economic dispatch between thermal power plants and hydroelectric stations by the classical method. An effective approach, called constrained relaxation method, is then proposed to solve this kind of problem in the decomposition and the coordination
