Abstract:The formal potentials and the numbers of electron transferred of the redox systems of Fe(CN)_6~(3-)/Fe(CN)_6~(4-) and methylene blue were determined with a Long-Path Length Thin-Layer spectroelectrochemical cell. The results obtained from our experiments were in good agreement with the reported values and those obtained from CV experiments. This paper also gave a simple equation of absorbance-time behavior when the redox system investigated with a Long-Path Length Thin-Layer spectroelectrehemical cell is controlled by diffusion. The diffusion coeffients of the reacting substances were obtained from this equation.
