| 摘 要： | 从词汇、语法和语体的角度看,科技英语(EST)和普通英语(GE)既有不少共同之点,又有许多不同之处。无疑,加强EST的教学和研究,将有助于促进我国广大的科技人员和理工科大学生掌握好科技英语。本文探讨科技英语对世界现代科学技术的发展以及我国社会主义建设所起的巨大作用,介绍上海机械学院于1979年在全国首创科技英语专业的时代背景以及其课程设置和培养目标。最后,作者就其所见,论述了普通英语专业和科技英语专业的区别和任务,并预测科技英语今后的发展前景。

| Abstract: | EST comes up as a direct result of the swift progress in science and technology. In 1979, SIME enrolled its first batch of students majoring in EST. In the present article, the author introduces the syllabus and teaching aims of SIME's EST speciality, treating of the current scene of EST teaching in China as well as the difference between EST and GE. Finally, the author ventures an opinion of what will happen to EST teaching in the predictable future. |
