列夫.托尔斯泰对中国情有独钟,他不仅对灾难深重的中国人民倾注了巨大的关注之情,而且对中国古典哲学有着巨大的兴趣。世界观发生激变后,他更是转向了东方,转向了中国,试图从东方的古典哲学,特别是从中国古代圣贤们的学说中寻找生活的真谛,对有人想把欧洲文明强加给中国四亿人民表示巨大的愤慨。老年时还表示,如果年轻,"一定要到中国去。"

Leo Tolstoy's Complex to Chinese Cultures

Leo Tolstoy was greatly fascinated by China.He was not only concerned much about the disaster-ridden Chinese people,but also displayed great interest in the Chinese classical philosophy.After experiencing new and drastic change of his outlook of the world,he turned to the East,to China,and attempted to seek for the true meaning of life from classical philosophy of the East,specially from the virtuous theories of oracles in ancient China.He expressed huge indignation on imposing of the European civilization to the 400 million people in China.In his later year,he also declared that,if he was young then,"would certainly visit China".
