Abstract:Based upon the failure analysis of coal cutter for hard coal, it was found that the spalling and the peeling of cemented carbide bit is one of the major premature failure types which was caused by the thermal fatigue during operation of the combine. The medium cobalt content and coarse WC grain size is recommended in prolonging the service lifetime of cemented carbide bit.
