旋轨耦合作用对Ti3+:Al2O3能级分裂的贡献

摘    要:运用晶体场理论对钛宝石能级分裂的精细结构进行了计算,结果说明,在不计Jahn-Teller效应的情况下,考虑晶场和自旋一轨道耦合的共同作用能很好的解释其基态能级分裂,解决了Macfarlane认为不能用晶体场理论进行计算的困难.理论数据与实验结果符合得很好.

Abstract:In this paper, the energy level splitting in Ti3+: A12O3 crystal is calculated with crystal field theory considering the SO coupling. Our result is in agreement with the Far infrared spectra which reflects the splitting of the ground state2T2g. Our calculation does not consider the dynamic Jahn-Teller effect reported by Macfarlane, who thought that for both ground and excited state's splitting, the dynamic JT effect plays a major role in determining those energies. Our calculation shows that dynamic JT effect is not the main reason for ground's splitting.
