将电信网、计算机网和有线电视网合并在一起进而演进成NGN,即支持在同一个高性能网络平台上运行同一协议族的语音、数据、视频等各种综合业务,既有Internet的灵活性,又能为语音等实时业务和重要数据提供质量保证NGN,这一结合多种网络优势和特点的全新的网络体系结构已经成为国内外电信运营商及制造商关注的重点,并已经在逐步构建.本文主要研究了NGN的体系结构,核心技术软交换,以及NGN提供的电信业务,并对NGN的前景进行了展望.

This paper investigates the architecture of NGN,its core technology- Softswitch and the telecom operation of NGN. It also gives an expectation of NGN foreground.
