连贯、衔接与阅读理解

摘    要:探讨什么样的语篇才叫连贯的语篇,以及连贯、衔接理论在阅读教学中的运用。首先,文章对连贯、衔接作了简略的回顾,从而得出了一个关于它们的工作性或临时性定义。接着,从认知、文化、情景语境、语篇与情景、语境间的连接,以及语篇内衔接等方面对语篇的连贯性作了探讨。然后,分析了语篇理解中连贯、衔接的一般运用程序,并以例说明这一程序在具体运用中如何使语篇教学更有效。最后,文章对一些衔接机制或手段是否在具体语篇教学中实用、有效发表一点看法。

Abstract:This paper mainly deals with what is a coherent text or discourse and how theory of coherence and cohesion is applied to the teaching and learning of reading comprehension.In the first place,a working or expedient definition of coherence and cohesion derives from a brief retrospectation of coherence and cohesion.Then a coherent text is explored in terms of cognition, culture,situational context,linkage between text and context of situation,and intratextual cohesion.Next,comes the application of theory of cohesion and coherence to the text comprehension and an example is offered to show how to teach and learn a text effectively.Finally,some remarks on applicability of some cohesive devices to reading comprehension are presented for the scholars who are doing research in this field.
