| Abstract: | The economic benefits of flood control are analyzed and computed,employing the concept of expected loss of risk.One method of dynamic computation of the economic benefits is proposed. The case study for Zhangzhou city of Fujian Province shows that the benefit of flood control is great, the total benefit in fifty years reaching 1.72 billion Yuan,with the annual mean of 3.44 million Yuan,in which the annual mean benefit of flood forecast is 0.33 million Yuan.The economic bene- fits of flood control increase continuously with the economic development within the flood plain area. |
