Differentiated Services--Internet中实现QoS的新体系

Internet的迅速发展和逐步商用化使得在 Internet中实现服务质量的分级和保证成为网络通信的研究热点。目前所提出的一些解决方案中前景最好的是 IETF( InternetEngineering Task Force)在 1998年 10月提出的 Differenti-ated Services体系模型。论文综述了 Differentiated Services体系模型的背景、原理、特征 ,并与其它实现机制进行了比较 ,并对其实现机制也进行了一定的讨论。论文认为由于Differentiated Services体系模型将许多复杂的控制移到网络边界 ,简化了网络内部处理 ,从而具有良好的可扩容性 ,将成为下一代 Internet体系模型的框架。

Differentiated services: a new internet architectural model with QoS support

Rapid development and gradual commercialization of the Internet has resulted in applications with multi level qualities of service. The differentiated services architectural model, which was proposed by IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) in 1998 is regarded as the most promising solution. This paper reviewed the background, principles and features of the Internet Differentiated Services architecture model. The Differentiated Services model is compared with other architectures and its relevant implementation mechanisms were discussed. In the Differentiated Services architectural model, many complex operations are moved to the boundary nodes and functions of core nodes are predigested, so the Differentiated Services architectural model has good scalability. Because of its good scalability, the Differentiated Services architectural model will evolve into a framework for the next generation Internet architectural models.
