Wavelet-Galerkin solutions for differential equations

Abstract:In order to get over the difficulty of introducing boundary conditions in solving differential equations by Daubechies wavelet, in this paper the wavelet-Galerkin numerical method is suggested to solve the differential equations, especially for the differential equation with boundary layer. The numberical results show that the algorithm described in this paper is effective both in the precision and the ability of detecting boundary layer position.
