The Development of Sonata Form

Focusing on the development of sonata form,this paper introduced the classical binary form,which was popular from the late seventeenth century to the early eighteenth century;classical sonata form,which is the predecessor of mature sonata form,and the sonata form in mature forepart,which came into being in the middle of eighteenth century and had a ternary form with mature framework and function.It carefully analyzed the characteristics of sonata form in different history periods and discussed how sonata form was developed by different musicians from simple form to mature form.At the same time,the development of sonata form has been described clearly.
