Large deflection analysis of arbitrarily shaped plates by spline finite strip method

In this paper, the spline finite strip method is extended to the large deflection analysis of arbitrarily-shaped plates. Formulation for the method is presented. Analyses are carried out for clamped and simply supported square plates, skew plates and clamped circular and annular sector plates subjected to distributed and point loading. Numerical results show the simplicity, accuracy and versatility of the method.
