A purified superoxide dismutase(SOD) from pig blood has been obtained by using a four successive procedure of exteaction,copper salts precipitation,selective thermal denaturation andgel chromatography on Sephadex G -100.The purity times amountedto 186.5.The purified enzyme showed a single protein band on polyacrylamied gel eletrophoresis The specific activity of the purified enzyme was 9325u/mg-pr.The molecular weight of the engyme,as determined by PAGE-SDS,was 30KD.the enztne was thernistable.The Ama.of the enyme solution was 260um.
