| Abstract: | Adsorption study of Low concentration benzene, toluene and ethylbenzene in water by montmorillonite and meerschaum was made. Adsorption time and adsorption capacity were examined in detail. The mode of adsorption of organic molecules by the clay was studied and proposed with techniques of XRD and thermal analysis. It is suggested that the chemical structure of clay surface should affect the adsorption capacity, So, further study has been conducted on some chemically treated clays, and the result will be reported in a successive paper. |
