| Abstract: | A method for the analysis of elasto-plastic seismic responses of semi-rigidly connected steel frames is presented in this paper. Through computa-tions we discover that the stiffness of the connections has significant effects on the seismic displacement response of the semi-rigidly connected steel frames while the strength of the connections affects that a little, and the seismic displacement response of the semi-rigidly connected steel frames is not always greater than that of the corresponding rigidly connected steel frames while the internal forces of the semi-rigidly connected steel frames induced by the seismic actions decrease with the decrease of the stiffness of the connections. |
