| Abstract: | We present a theoretical study of the dielectric response of the electron gas in quantum wells and the dielectric screened potential of an external charged point using the self-consistent-field dielertric formulation,which is equivalent to the random-phase approximation. It has been found that the screened potential shows the anisotropy and the Friedel oscillation behaviours. |
