"Adaptive Agent" is the cornerstone of the Theory of Complex Adaptive System,known as CAS for short.By approaching the theory of CAS from the perspective of philosophy,we can have a better understanding of the connection between "agent" and "relation" and the reason why post-modern philosophy interprets the dualism of traditional philosophy that separates the subject and the object.The study of the CAS theory also provides a profound understanding of such dialectical characteristics as interaction,inevitability,and uncertainty.What is more,analysis of the system evolution from the perspective of generative theory is of great significance to the promotion of the research on the epistemology of dialectical materialism.
