摘    要:在分析了基于DEM数据和基于分形理论生成地形的优缺点的基础上,提出了一种利用DEM数据生成地形的框架,运用分形理论生成地形细节的算法。它充分发挥这两种生成算法的优点,减少了数据的输入量,节约了系统资源。并提出根据视点的变化,应用层次细节模型和对组成地形框架的面片进行可见性判断,以减少实时生成地形时产生的延迟现象。

Abstract:There are two methods which are in common use to generate terrain. One is based on DEM data, and the other is based on fractal geometry. But they have their own shortcomings. In this paper, a new method is put forward. We can use simplified DEM data to construct terrain frame at first, and then use fractal to generate the details of terrain. By this way we can decrease the number of input data and the occupation rate of system resources. According to the change of view position and direction, we can also use level of details model and judge the visibility of meshes to represent current terrain, which can decrease the delay of real-time generation terrain.
