Anomalous Monism and Supervenience Thesis: Davidson on Relation between the Mental and the Physical

In 1970s,Donald Davidson solved the problem of the relational between the mental and the physical under anomalous monism.At the same time,he invoked the notion of supervenience to describe the picture of the mental and the physical,which shown the characteristic of nonreductive physicalism.This theory was strongly criticized by the reductionists like Jaegwon Kim.Davidson's metaphysical presuppositions about "the ontology of event" and "the concept of supervenience" provided the exactly philosophical proof for his theory.However,because above metaphysical presuppositions were profound but incomplete,thus Davidson's theory remained the need to be more justified.
