OBSERVATION OF THE ULTRASTRUCTURE OF THE MEIOTIC IN THE POLLEN MOTHER CELL OF LIRIODENDRON ''''CHINENSE (HEMSL. ) SARG.

Ultrathin section and transmission electron microscope were used to observe the meiotic in the pollen mother cell of Liriodendron chinense(Hemsl. ) Sarg. At the beginning of meiotic, the solution of intercellular lager, the contraction of chromatin and degradation or neorganization of cytoplasmic and organelles had a synchrony in initial development with the depsition of callose. Nuclear division was the same as the meiotic of the pollen mother cell in angiosperm. The cytokinesis was an intermediate type between successive and simultaneous types. The cytokinesis were completed by the formation of heterotypic and homeotypic furrow, and also accompanied by the centripetal deposition of callose wall. The formation of cell plates was not found. All provided sorts of figures showed that abnormal meiotic at last led to abortion were provided, and the mechanism of the abortion was also discussed.
