| Abstract: | The status and role of states and individuals in international law has been a controversial issue in the field of theories of the law. While it is a mere fact that states are the main subjects of international law, it is a generally accepted fact that individuals are not mere objects of the law. States and individuals, however, do not have the same status and do not play the same role in international law. |
