宋元数学与珠算的比较评价

中国古代数学是一种算器型的算法体系，是一种技艺型的价值取向，中国古代数学在经历宋元时期的特定历史阶段之后走向明代实用的珠算是一种历史的必然。目前的研究评价多是暗用了西方古代数学的欧几里得模式的评价准则，因而过低地评价了珠算在中国古代数学中的历史地位。中国古代数学的研究评价应从中国文化系统的特定氛围出发，运用没有西方古代数学价值观念的评价准则，给予珠算客观的历史评判。

REMARKS ON COMP ARISON BETWEEN SONG AND YUAN MATHEMATICS AND CALCULATING BY ABACUS DURING THE MING DYNASTY

There exist three kinds of problems on the comparative evaluation between the mathematics during the Song and Yuan Dynasties and the abacus in the Ming Dynasty. They are the tooling algorithm, the value of the concept of skill and the standards of evalua- tion for ancient Chinese mathematics. The use of the abacus may be regarded as a great con- tribution to world mathematics after the mathematics during the Song and Yuan Dynasties.
