| Abstract: | Shen Congwen is not only an excellent novelist but also aperson who probes into our national culture.His exploration of the national culture is chiefly manifested in his endeavour to reform China's social reality and reconstruct the national culture by means of literature.Propagating human nature and lashing out against Confucian culture's constraints on human nature and against the erosion of human nature by western colonialist culture and modern civilization are the important contents of his exploration. |
