西方传教士与南明政权

西方传教士自明朝中叶再度传入中国后 ,对中国政治、文化与社会的影响越来越大。在明清之际 ,更从军事、外交等方面对南明政权进行实质的支持 ,作为交换 ,南明政权对西方传教士在传教与贸易方面也给予较多的便利。西方传教士对南明政权的帮助 ,在一定程度上使明清政权的交替产生了拖缓的作用

Western Missionaries and the South Ming Regime

The activities of the European missionaries entering China in the middle of Ming Dynasty increasingly affected Chinese politics, culture and society. During the period of late Ming and early Qing Dynasty, they supported in practice the South Ming's military affairs, diplomacy, etc. And in return, the South Ming provided the missionaries some advantages for their missions and commerce. The assistance of western missionaries to the South Ming regime, to some extent, retarded the alternation of regime from the Ming to the Qing.
