相对方向行程编码方法

摘    要:
本文提出了一种相对方向行程编码的压缩方法.这种编码方法较流行的等值线编码方法具有更好的压缩效果,进一步消除了等值线编码的冗余信息,从而可以达到更高的压缩比.文中描述了这种编码的原理和方法,给出了本方法的数据结构和编码、译码算法及实验结果.从几幅图象的实验结果来看,相对方向行程编码方法的压缩比大约是等值线编码方法的压缩比的3倍.

Abstract:
A compression method for relative direction run-encoding is proposed. This method is more space-effective than contour encoding, with the 2D data dependency of images and the 1D data dependency of the contour code, more redundant information will be eliminated. The code is also an optimal one formed by employing the concept of probability matching and is especially good for data compression of line images. It is also good for those images with distinct block structures. The larger the size and the higher the resolution of an image is, the higner the compression would be. The principle and the method are described and a data structure, the encoding algorithm as well as the experimental results are given. It shows that the compression ratio of the method proposed is nearly three times as great as that of the contour encoding method.
