2011年9月28日,国务院颁布《关于支持河南省加快建设中原经济区的指导意见》,中原经济区正式上升为国家战略.中原经济区是中部经济发展的关键,但目前全区发展不均衡,城市竞争力是进行城市一体化研究的重要参照指标,实现整合性的一体化发展对于中原经济区的良性发展至关重要.
