| Abstract: | The great poets of America in the 19th century, Edegar Allan Poe and Emily Dickinson were both fond of writing poems about death. However, the female characters were quite different from each other in the two poets＇ works, reflecting the bound and rebellious ones respectively in the patriarchal society. |
