Abstract:This paper discusses the open circuit voltage of Li-CuO battery. The experi-ments reveal that open circuit voltage of Li-CuO battery is more than 3 V. resultingfrom the cathode adsorption of oxygen and water. The more the content of graphiticpowder in the cathode, the more the gases are adsorbed, the higher the open circuitvoltage is, and the larger the high plateau voltage is. The doped zinc may removeadsorbed oxygen and water, it causes the open circuit voltage of battery decreases toabout 2.5~2.6 V. approaching to the thermodynamic electromotive force.
