| Abstract: | In this paper,the microscopic molecular structure of polymer(polyimide, (methylmethacrylate)(PMMA))deposited with the LB technique on a graphite and silicon substrates was studied by atomic force microscopy(AFM),ranging from morphology on nanometer down to molecular scale.An AFM image of polymer monolayer showing the polymer chains was observed for the first time.By increasing the applied force on the surface of LB films,we are able to measure the thickness of the films and carry out the modification on LB films surface. |
