符号、语言与语言灵物崇拜

语言的“塔布”导致了语言的灵物崇拜。当人们对这个世界缺乏足够了解的时候，面对众多无法解释与接受的现实，他们宁可相信语言文字有种神秘的力量。于是，当人们将客观事象本身与表述它的符号代码混同无辨时，符号就获得了超越其本来价值的力量，语言的灵物崇拜就出现了。语言灵物崇拜的两个极端是：口头语的代表——咒，书面语的代表——符。不论是咒语的能指——语音，还是符录的能指——字形，在语言学中，它们的所指——语义和字义(字音)都是“事物”的心理再现，反映了相关的思想或观念，而并非事物的本身。

Symbols,Language and Its Worship

The language taboo leads to its worship. Without a deep understanding of the world around them, people can't explain and accept many things in reality, so they believe in the language's magic power. When they get confused with the objects and their symbols, their symbols acquire the power which surpasses its real value, thus, language worship appears. Its two extremes are incantation-which stands for spoken language, and magic character-which stands for written language, either in which way, in Linguistics, they show their psychological ideas and reflect the relevant thoughts, rather than objects themselves.
