Research on Quantification Method of Comprehensive Benefits of Water-saving Agriculture Based on Emergy Theory |

Abstract: | The implementation of water-saving agricultural project will have many impacts on regional economy, society and ecological environment. The establishment of scientific and reasonable quantitative methods to quantitatively analyze the comprehensive benefits of water-saving agriculture is conducive to the development of large-scale water-saving agriculture. Based on the emergy theory of ecological economics, this paper analyzes the composition of the positive and negative benefits of water-saving agricultural economy, society and ecological environment. The article uses emergy as a unified measurement scale and proposes a quantitative method for the comprehensive benefits of water-saving agriculture. This paper takes the 2016 water-saving renovation project in the Shenwu Irrigation Area of the Hetao Irrigation District as an example for calculation. The results showed that the comprehensive benefits of water-saving agriculture in the Shenwu Irrigation Area were 1.067 billion yuan, of which the ecological environment benefits accounted for the largest proportion, reaching 79.8%, the economic benefits accounted for 20.0%, and the social benefits accounted for 0.2%. We can see that water-saving agriculture has a greater impact on the ecological environment. While water-saving agriculture achieves positive benefits, it will also bring certain negative benefits. On the whole, water-saving agriculture has positive benefits greater than negative benefits. The method proposed in this paper can provide a new way to quantify the comprehensive benefits of water-saving agriculture. |
