维吾尔族大学生英语学习的歧义容忍度调查

摘    要:由于英语与维语分属不同语系,两种语言在语音、语法、词汇和句法等方面存在较大差别,因此民考民学生在学习英语过程中不可避免地会遇上语言的歧义现象。本文通过问卷的方式对新疆师范大学外国语学院英语专业二年级和三年级的52名维吾尔族大学生的英语学习歧义容忍度进行调查,并从阅读、说写、听讲、语法、语音和词汇方面做出进一步分析。结果表明,英语专业维吾尔族学生虽然在不同语言技能的歧义容忍度方面存在着显著性差异,但是,不同年级学生之间的英语学习歧义容忍度不存在显著性差异。本文旨在依据维吾尔族大学生英语学习歧义容忍度的特点,对维吾尔族大学生的英语教学提出有针对性的建议。

Ambiguity Tolerance of Uygur Students in English Learning

Abstract:English and Uygur belong to different language families, and there are big differences in phonetics, grammar, vocabulary, syntax and so on. Therefore, Uygur students will inevitably encounter ambiguous phenomenon in the process of learning English. Present paper investigates 52 second-year and third-year Uygur students of College of Foreign Languages at Xinjiang Normal University through a questionnaire and makes further analysis from the aspects of reading, speaking and writing, listening, grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. The statistical result shows that there is a significant difference in ambiguity tolerance among different language skills. However, there is no significant difference between students with different grades. This paper aims at providing some helpful suggestions for minority students' English teaching and learning according to their characteristics of English learning ambiguity tolerance.
