专科生与本科生英语学习动机的差异性研究

摘    要:该研究的目的在于探索专科生和本科生学习英语的动机上的区别,为大专阶段英语教学方法提出针对性的建议。研究依据Harter对动机的分类理论,分析了70名专科生和70名本科生的问卷,把英语学习动机分为两类八种,并发现外在动机在专科生中普遍存在,并较本科生更为强烈。研究表明,专科英语教育应利用学生的外在动机促进英语学习效果,同时注重激发学生的内在动机。

Abstract:The study intends to investigate the differences in English learning motivations between junior college students and undergraduates. According to Harter's motivation model, it categorizes English learning motivations into two groups including eight types through questionnaires among 140 students. It further finds out that junior college students have stronger extrinsic motivations that also generally exist. Based on the findings, the author raises some suggestions about how to improve junior college English teaching.
