胡适与新文化运动

胡适以及新文化运动的发生 ,人们只有将其置于整个 2 0世纪文化转型的背景中 ,才能确定其历史的地位 ,充分认识其意义与价值。从晚清到五四 ,现代性思想主题与价值认同已经发生了巨大的变化。晚清的思想主题是建立一个现代的“国家” ,而五四知识分子所关心的问题是个人自由、个性解放。五四关于人生观的讨论 ,以及贞操问题、妇女问题等各种问题的讨论 ,实际上是一种对传统的总体性的文化批判 ,是个人的重新发现与创造 ,是一种深刻的社会革命和价值重建。从这个角度看胡适在五四时期的思想言论 ,以及他对实用主义哲学的吸收、运用 ,对国故的整理等活动 ,即具有典范意义

Hu Shi and Neo-culture Movement

It is only by locating Hu Shi and the Neo\|culture Movement in the whole setting of the 20th century culture transformation that their historic place, meaning and value can be acknowledged. From the late Qing Dynasty to the May 4th Movement, modern thought subjects and values had changed tremendously. The thought subjects during the late Qing Dynasty are based on a modern \!country\", but the intellectuals during the May 4th Movement are concerned about the individual freedom and individual liberation. Discussion on Hu Shi's thoughts, speeches and his assimilation, adoption, sorting of the national treasures from this perspective can be considered as a model.
