随着我国社会主义市场经济的深入和高等教育的普及化,我国社会经济成分、组织形式、就业方式、利益关系和分配方式日趋多样,大学生面临着政治信仰、理想信念、价值取向等的极考验。从学校教育自身来看,随着我国高等教育改革和发展的不断深入,特别是目前的高等教育已经进入普及化阶段,我们培养大学生的目标向应用能力转移,思想政治工作在目标、任务、途径等方面必然要做出不同于“精英教育”、不同于大学本科教育界的深刻变革。新的形势下,思想政治工作究竟该怎样改进?这是所有思想政治工作者面对的共同课题。
