| 摘 要： | 通过对礼貌的概念及运用的研究,文章分析了如何使用英语礼貌语言中留面子的种种不同策略,分别达到积极礼貌以及消极礼貌的目的。通过分析积极礼貌、消极礼貌以及非公开的技巧,提出应该根据不同的交际场合灵活使用不同的策略,以实现预期的交际效果。

| Abstract: | This article summarizes the concept and the application of politeness and aims to analyze the polite language in English hy outlining different strategies of saving face from both negative and positive perspectives. Through the analyses of the strategies of positive politeness, negative politeness and off- record, the author suggests that such strategies should be used tactfully according to different situations. |
