摘    要:针对IEEE 802.16e系统中用户在切换时,竞争目标基站广播轮询的上行测距Ranging资源会造成较大时延,提出了一种新策略,即目标基站用多播轮询代替广播轮询分配上行Ranging资源给切换用户.仿真结果表明,采用新策略可以减少用户的切换时延,并且这种性能改善的效果在切换用户比较多的情况下更加明显.

New Strategy of Reducing Handover Delay in IEEE 802.16e Systems

Abstract:Since the users contend for the uplink Ranging resource, which is allocated by the target base station (BS) based on the broadcast polling during handover process in the IEEE 802.16e systems, so that large delay is generated, a new strategy is proposed. That is, the target BS allocates the uplink Ranging resource based on multicast polling instead of broadcast polling. The simulation results show that the new strategy reduces the handover delay of users. And this effect of performance improvement is especially obvious in the case of more handover users.
