| Abstract: | The effect of morphology, quantity, size and distribution of the graphite on the inlay of diamond grain in the lapping plate is analyzed. The role of metal matrix in the fixedness of inlay as well as that of the iron phoshide eutectic in the improvement of resistance to wear is discussed. The structures and properties of the lapping plate can be changed by alloying, inoculation, heat treatment or chilled casting so as to meet the demands of inlaying different sizes of diamond grains. Experiments show that the alloy cast iron with Ni-Cr-P is suitable for use in coarse lapping plate after inoculation and partial austenizing normalization, and the alloy cast iron with Cu-Cr-P is suitable for use in fine lapping plate after imoculation and chilled casting. After coarse and fine grinding, the diamond tool completely meets the requirements of superfine machine work. |
