摘    要:为适应我国经济发展和国际交流的需要,《大学英语课程教学要求》明确指出语言的文化因素在教学中的重要地位。反思大学英语教学现状,教学方法、教材内容和教师素质等方面都亟待改进。为重构大学英语文化教学,必须实现母语文化和目的语文化的互动,注重对学生的价值观引导,发挥教师的主导性和学生的主体性。只有培养和提高学生跨文化交际能力,才能满足新时期国家和社会对人才培养的需要。

Teaching of Culture in College English: Reflection and Reconstruction

Abstract:College English Curriculum Requirements specifically illustrates the significance of the teaching of culture with a view to catering to the development of economy and international communications in China. Reflection of the present situation of College English teaching, however, reveals the necessity of improvement in teaching materials, teaching methods and teachers' qualities. It is advised that enough attention should be paid to the interaction between both the cultures of the native language and target language, proper guidance of students' values, and the creation of student - centered teaching environment in which teachers and students are closely related to each other. The cultivation and enhancement of cross - cultural communication competence is a must to meet the needs of the country and society for qualified personnel in the new era.
