Elementary Introduction to Regional Varieties in American English

A variety, which arises from the differences of the space, the temporal factors, the social distance , etc, is the sub - language or the actual representation of a language. It often makes our communication much more difficult. Therefore, it becomes necessary to explore the causes of the varieties in the same language, describe their existence and research their social functions. The purpose of this article is to describe the regional varieties existing in American English so as to improve our practical language competence.
