Three Topics about the Officialdom Novels in the 1990s

The emergence of officialdom novels is a literary phenomenon that may not be evaded in China in the 1990s, but it should be realized that many paradoxical spiritual complexes exist in the writers' creations. The author of this paper dissects this mainly in the following three aspects from which we can obtain some literary enlightenment: the paradox of authority criticism and enjoyment, that of the reflection as well as the appeal for the reform in political system and honest official consciousness, and that of the potential writing in modern literature on the viewpoints to the love of traditional literati.
