| Abstract: | The ultrastructure of the mature testis of the teleost,Clarias lazera, is studied by means of electron-microscope, The result is as follows: 1)The type of the testis of Clarias lazera, consisting of many lobules, is that of lobules; 2)Leydig cells,which are polyhedral and have the vesicular nucleous and the mitochrondria with tubular cristae as well as the endoplasmic reticulum in the form of anastomosing vesicles, locate between the lobules; 3)the tubule wall consists of myoid cells and sertoli cells as well as germ cells; 4)The fibered germ plasm is found in the cytoplasm of the spermatogenous cells and there is no germ plasm in the spermatids; 5)There is no acrosomes in the heads of the sperms. The axonemes have a"9+2"pattern |
