| Abstract: | A new convenient method for the synthesis of triarylmethyl aryl ketones was reported. In this method a one-pot reaction of diaryl ketone and zinc powder in ether under the influence of anhydrous aluminium chloride is employed. The advantages of this method over other methods are: the short reaction time, the high yield and the ease with which the product could be separated. |
