明清才子佳人小说的科举情结

Complex of Imperial Examination in Scholar Beauty Novels

Imperial examination system was the most important means of selecting talented persons in Ming and Qing Dynasties. even to such an extent that they were obsessed by it. This complex was shown in the late Ming and early Qin＇s Scholar Beauty Novels. Most of the authors were depressed literati in middle and lower classes. They were usually the loser in the imperial examination, but the characters in their novels were all winner. This contradiction highlighted the authors own obsession with the imperial examination, the longing for fame. It also presented the authors＇ ideal： sustenance of their own dream on the characters.
