从“依附”到“存质”——异域宗教文化传译中的伦理更替

道德和伦理是任何交往互动行为的基础,翻译集语际转换、人际交往和跨文化交流于一身,必然带上浓重的伦理色彩。中国历史上第一次大规模的以宗教传播为目的的翻译活动,清晰地折射出异质文化交流中翻译伦理的诉求的更替。具体表现为交流初期为规避冲突选择＂依附＂主流伦理思想,而当两种文化渐趋平等时出现对＂存质＂译文的追求。

From＂ Domestication＂ to＂Foreignization＂ —— Alternation of Translation Ethics in the Spread of Exotic Religious Culture

Any communicative interaction is based on social morals and ethics.Since translation is an interpersonal and intercultural communicative act involving the transformation between two different languages,it inevitably shows ethical features.The first translation climax in Chinese history which aimed at the spread of exotic religious culture clearly reflects the alternation of translation ethics in the communication of different cultures.That is to say translators might attach to the mainstream ethics at the early stage of contact to avoid possible conflicts,but when two cultures involved achieved relative equality they tend to pursue quality representation of source texts.
