加拿大作家翁达杰的《世代相传》是一部相当奇特的后现代主义作品,评论家称之为“编史元小说”、“传记式小说”。在这部解构传统的文本中,作者将历史与小说、真实与虚构、主观与客观、作者与读者融为一炉,并化文本为“战场”,使这些传统中对立的双方上演了一出“战争”之戏。不过,在翁达杰笔下,传统中对立的双方不是你死我活的生存竞争,而是和平共处的交流与对话。

Passing Down From Generation To Generation written by Canadian writer Weng Dajie is a peculiar postmodernism works, which is called chronological novel or autobiographical novel by critics. In this text of deconstructing the tradition, the author mixed history with novel, reality with imagination, subject with object and writer with readers and changed the text into the "battle" where both traditional antagonistic sides fought against each other. However, in his works, both traditional antagonistic sides did not carry out cutthroat competition for survival but held peaceful exchange and conversation.
