Studies on Graft Copolymerization of Acrylonitrile onto Alginate Initiatived by Hydrogen Peroxide and Ascorbic Acid Redox System

Abstract:Hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)-ascorbic acid(ASA) redox system was confirmed to be an effective initiation system for the graft copolymerization of acrylonitrile onto alginate. IR spectra and differential thermal analysis have been adopted to prove the structure of the PAN-g-alginate. she better grafting efficiency (GE%) and grafting yelid (GY%) were abtained at AN]= 1.0mol/L, ASA]=H2O2]=2.0×10(-3)mol/L, pH=4, alginate of 10g/L, at 40℃ in 3h. The mechanism of the graft copolymerization was suggested.
