| Abstract: | The present paper presented the first time an analysis of the karyo-types of Larix Chinensis Beissn, endemic to China. L. chinensis has six pairs of chromosomes with median centromeres, five pairs of chromosomes with submedian centromeres, and one pair of chromosome with subterminals. It belongs to Stebbins "2A" type, composed of six pairs of chromosomes with arm ratio more than 2. The first chromosome of the karyotype has a satellite.On the basis of observing the karyotype of Larix griffithiana and combining with the previous work, the evolutionary relationship between the two sections of Larix was also discussed. The article supports the observation that Sect. Multiseriales is more advanced than Sect. Larix. |
